Behaviour Support Specialist required in Sutton secondary school!

If you have the desire to work with young people who have struggled to be successful in a mainstream school due to their behaviour difficulties, you may be the perfect fit for this alternative provision.

Based in Sutton, this school are looking for a learning support assistant to join their team. It is essential that you are passionate about working with young people who have had difficulties attending mainstream school. You must be able to motivate and inspire children who come from disadvantaged and challenging backgrounds, and re-engage them with education.

This school have an opening for a full time member of staff to work with one of their key stage 4 pupils. You will be required to mostly work 1:1, however general classroom support in this small class size of just 6 pupils will also be a part of the role.

There is 1:1 funding for most pupils at this school, so you will be expected to work collaboratively with the class teacher and a number of other learning support assistants.

Training courses will be available through the school and through Teaching Personnel. We are committed to your continued professional development and can offer the Team Teach restraint course during school holidays.

To work through Teaching Personnel you will be required to have a DBS on the update service, or be willing to complete a new one asap. You must also be able to provide references from previous employers.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
