We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Technical support team in which you will be responsible for providing technical support to the company, both within head office and to Financial Advisers. We are looking for individuals who will be able to support the Society in areas including; legislation, Pensions, IHT, Investment Taxation and Personal Taxation.

Main responsibilitiesAs a Trainee Technical Services Adviser your main responsibilities will be to assist in providing technical support, advice and steerage to our Financial Advice team. Being a supportive function it’s your job to ensure that this is done correctly following business procedures and of course in a timely fashion.

You will be expected to learn and over time become comfortable to provide technical advice around all aspects of financial planning including taxation, life assurance, estate planning and pensions and investments. In this role you will be dealing with both internal and external stakeholders so clear communication is paramount as is representing the business in the right way ensuring our service and values proposition is not compromised. We pride ourselves on the way we conduct our business and you will play a key part of this process.

 


Ideal candidateWorking in a technical supportive function you will need to be numerate, organised and work well under pressure. Communication is very important so clarity and confidence should be displayed at all times as would the need to challenge and be challenged. Change is something that naturally happens within Financial Services so flexibility and adaptability is also important.

As this is a ‘trainee’ role full training will be provided but having a back ground in Financial Services would be beneficial. In addition there is an expectation to undertake and complete the Diploma in Financial Planning. An ability to work alone and as part of team will be needed as their will be and expectation to do so.
