Now Careers are working with Cardiff County Council based in County Hall, Cardiff Bay who have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic Accountant to join this new development team.

This is a FTC �until 31.03.20 reviewable subject to budget.

Based on 37 hours (flexible) a week, 36 days annual leave.

Grade 7 - £28,000 - £33,000

Duties and Responsibilities

- To work closely with Project Teams, undertaking detailed financial analysis of the
- Council`s financial systems and to produce suitable reports which assist the Project
- Team to understand the financial information which underpins the operational and
- financial objectives of their project.
- To assist the Programme and/or the Portfolio Accountant in preparing financial
- reports for Project Boards, Programme Boards and/or Portfolio Board.
- To undertake a detailed review of Outline and Full Business Cases (at either Project
- or Programme level), critically challenging the robustness and deliverability of the
- financial and no-financial benefits identified.
- To work with the Programme and/or Portfolio Accountant to establish the supporting
- financial cost management and benefit tracking processes ensuring the timely
- capture of data.
- To represent the Chief Corporate Services and Section 151 Officer at working groups
- and other meetings as required, including the presentation of financial reports.
- To provide financial advice to the Chief Corporate Services and Section 151 Officer
- and to other Council staff as required.
- To interpret new and existing legislation as it affects the Council.
- To be an effective and committed member of the Technical or Service Accountancy
