(Lead/Snr) Full Stack Developer, Media (Remote working) - London

£65 to £85k

My client, one of the UK`s largest media publishers are looking for a Snr or Lead Full Stack Developer who will develop, extend and maintain our existing code, mostly built in Node.js and javascript. They offer a few days a week remote working.

You will join their brand new development team called Emerging Products which operates entirely lean, Innovation driven, and focus relentlessly on Innovating fast to discover new business models in the Publishing Industry.

What will you do

You will work closely with other team members such as Head of Product, UX, engineers, editorial and commercial to deliver fantastic products built around key customer and business insights.
We strongly believe in team ownership and self-direction, and strive to provide an environment where the teams can perform at their best. You will be designing, prototyping and implementing new and exciting products and the work you`ll do here will be seen by millions of people.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced full stack developer (mainly JavaScript) to join our content verticals team. You`ll have experience working within a product development team and will be happy to work on your own initiative. We`re looking for someone who can contribute with product ideas as well as someone who is a brilliant developer.
Ownership and communication are also key. We are looking for people who care deeply about the code they write while at the same time are able to bridge the gap between the technical and the business areas of the company effectively.

What we are looking for

Fluent in Javascript and Node.js
Experienced in configuring cloud hosting technologies, ideally AWS using Cloudformation.
Collaborative and non-hierarchical style of working.
Happy to learn new technologies
Can empathise with the needs of other people in the business
Can-do, positive attitude, proactive approach to problem solving
Persistent and committed to shipping great products, testing them quickly, and iterating from there.
Interested in taking ownership for every aspect of the solution, from the code to the analytics to...

Other things we`d be excited to see

Experience in small team / startup environment.
Infrastructure as code.
Experience of scaling to handle large volumes of data and traffic.
Data Analysis.
Performance optimisation.
Interest or experience with functional programming.
