Job Profile: Do you have an NVQ, HND or City and Guilds in Vehicle Mechanics, or Automotive Repairs?

Have you served an apprenticeship in a Car Garage or Dealership?

Are you looking for that next step up the ladder?

My client is looking to recruit a number of vehicle mechanics to work within their Engine Test facility in Peterborough.

You will be taught how to prepare and carry out an Engine Test, using state of the art Diagnostic Equipment, within multi million pound test cells and then carry out research & development work on either current or new engines.

Essential Skills,
Experience and
Qualifications: City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Apprenticeship served in Motor Mechanics or equivalent qualifications. The client may consider recent graduates who can show in their CV experience of working on Engines or working in a garage as part of their work experience.

Experience of stripping or rebuilding Engines.

Good PC skills

Applicants must be self-motivated with good team working skills and be willing to work shifts. Initiative and a positive attitude to change are also essential.

The ability to work to engineer’s instructions, carry out a range of test work, including fitting prototype parts to an engine.

Hours: This role is working on a day shift, but after initial training you may be asked to work Early, late and Night Shift. These would be paid at a premium rate.

Rate: �12.00 per hour on a PAYE basis, equivalent to �25,000 per annum. You will also receive 25 days paid holiday, 8 days paid bank holidays and entry into a Statutory Pension Scheme.
