Would you like to work with children with SEN?

Do you live in South East London?

I am looking for a member of support staff to work in a special school in Sidcup. This school is for secondary age children with a range of special needs, including PMLD, ASC and SLD. They have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced learning support assistant to join them long term and can offer a supportive environment in which you can develop your career quickly and successfully.

You must be flexible and willing to work both with small groups and on a 1:1 basis. A willingness to assist with moving and handling is strongly desirable, as is any previous experience of supporting children with physical or mental disabilities including Autism. It would also be beneficial if you are confident in de-escalating confrontational behaviour – training in Team Teach or any other behavioural/restraint based training is desirable but not essential.

To work for Teaching Personnel, you will be required to have a child workforce DBS registered to the update service. If you do not already have this in place, you will be required to complete a new DBS application. You must also be able to provide two excellent references from your two most recent employers.

To apply for this position via Teaching Personnel, contact Louise using the telephone number or email address provided.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
