THE ROLE: IT Development Team Manager - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Working as a key member of the Applications Delivery team, The IT Development Team Manager will lead and manage the Development and Pricing RTP Team.
The IT Development Manager is responsible for the delivery of Third party applications. Define, plan and manage development resources in the delivery of applications and technical change on the 3rd party applications.
• To provide line management, coaching and mentoring to develop skills and performance of the team.
• To carry out resource planning and allocation to meet demands from project work and BAU change requests
• To improve and manage development and release processes
• To communicate and report progress to other teams and key stakeholders
• To ensure that all environments are correctly maintained and changes are not promoted to the live environment without correct testing and due diligence

ACCOUNTABILITY- IT Development Team Manager - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

• Drive consistent standards and approaches throughout the team
• Facilitate technology and methodology decision making throughout the team including standardization of system architecture, version control, and deployment process
• Oversee and manage the release process for all projects internally and externally
• Plan workload and manage resourcing to meet business goals
• Ensure code delivered is of high quality and error free
• Implement development methodologies including Agile, scrum and best practices.
• Continuous improvement in process and planning
• Maintenance and improvement to existing integration tools
• Ensure development team have the skills and tools to do their job
• Line management
• Build strong working relationships with internal business areas and external partners and suppliers.
• Ensure all activities comply with FSA and TCF guidelines
• Ensure the quality of changes delivered
• Review change and support processes on a regular basis
• Monitor and track team performance

KEY CRITERIAS- IT Development Team Manager - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

• Solid experience as a developer and development team leader
• Line management experience and track record of leadership and motivation of teams
• Technical background in development using MS-SQL Server and/or C#/Java
• Working knowledge of at least one structured programming language
• Knowledge of tiered architecture systems
• Experience of the full application lifecycle
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to develop working relationships at all levels.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Attention to detail and works to high standards.
• Excellent planning, organisation and prioritisation of workload.
