Rail Project Manager

"An exciting opportunity to take the reigns as Project Manager overseeing a portfolio of rail civils projects and contracts in Northern and Mid Wales."

The Company

This tier one Rail Civils contractor has built a solid reputation for delivering small to medium sized projects on the CP5 as well as high volume schemes on a minor works framework. The business has profited from strong leadership over the last six years taking turnover from 75m in 2011 to an impressive 212m and operate without any of the red-tape and bureaucracy that you find with some of the larger contractors. If you are looking for an organisation that will reward and encourage your development, empower you to make decisions and make things happen then this is definitely the contractor for you! To further encourage the growth of the business and to address a significant workload and portfolio of current work, a talented Project Manager is required in the region. Is this you?

About the Job

This is an outstanding opportunity to make your mark as Project Manager and demonstrate your skills and capabilities of overseeing multiple work streams. The role will see you responsible for the overall project delivery of a station refurbishment project in North Wales, management of Mid and North Wales minor works as part of an asset management framework and a variety of tendered civil engineering projects up to 1m in value for the likes of Network Rail and local authorities in the region.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for projects at all stages from pre-qualifying and tendering through to project completion whilst ensuring successful contract and project delivery in the Mid/North Wales region. You will be required to build positive relationships with all project stakeholders working closely with the clients and site teams to ensure health and safety, quality and overall project programmes are achieved.

The Ideal candidate

To make this role your own, ideally you will have had exposure to rail minor work framework(s) and projects such as stations refurbishments, platforms, embankments etc. You will thrive in this role if you are well versed in Project Management from tendering through to project delivery and completion.

The Requirements

You should be educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant civil engineering discipline and ideally a chartered member of the ICE. Your experience to date should be demonstrable working as a Project Manager for a main contractor in a similar rail civil engineering project or framework environment with a strong knowledge and understanding of Network Rail standards.

As always, the salary on offer is commensurate with experience but you should expect to achieve a competitive salary in the region of 50,000 - 60,000 per annum and you will also be rewarded with an extensive benefits package including a car/car allowance.
