Our client who is an iconic luxury sports car manufacturer, is currently recruiting for the following role:

Job Purpose
This role exists to enable the delivery of energy management and related performance attributes for Hybrid Electric Vehicle and Battery Electric Vehicles. It includes responsibility for the development and delivery of sub-system calibrations with a focus on performance and energy management in the context of Hybrid and Electric controls. It also requires collaboration with and management of suppliers to achieve delivery of a powertrain that meets the programme objectives. To assess and feedback issues and provide technical guidance to Powertrain teams to meet performance and energy management goals.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
• Lead definition, development and functional requirements of hybrid and electric powertrain systems
• Lead definition of energy management and Hybrid Electric Vehicle/Battery Electric Vehicle performance requirements within the defined powertrain architecture and cascade system targets to meet vehicle attributes
• Lead calibration activity on defined systems and provide technical guidance.
• Use knowledge from RapidE programme to develop robust solutions for client future Hybrid Electric Vehicle /Battery Electric Vehicle programmes. Transfer knowledge within the Calibration & Controls team.
• Responsibility for energy management deliverables in line with client customer requirements
• Interface with the Simulation team to enable robust Calibration strategy proposals considering system trade-offs for performance and energy management, to achieve deliverables
• Work closely with Powertrain/electronic Powertrain engineers to define a system meeting the programme targets
• Manage and support external facilities and suppliers to achieve Calibration team goals
• Prepare project timing plans to support deliverables and programme timing
• Prepare reports of findings from test bed, vehicle testing and environmental testing of the vehicle, and present these in technical meetings
• Guide, direct and train to develop other team members

Qualifications and Experience
• Ideally educated to Degree level or equivalent relevant experience
• Extensive experience gained within an automotive vehicle manufacturer, preferably with experience of product development in Electrical Powertrain applications
• Recent direct experience of application of new technologies related to batter Electric Vehicles and/or Hybrid Electric Vehicle applications
• Full driving license
• Ability to work in hot and cold climates
• Prepared to support overseas suppliers on a regular basis

Location: Wellesbourne

Due to the significant growth our client has experienced in recent years it now benefits from being a true multi-site organisation, and as such this role could be based at a number of sites, including Warwickshire, Wellesbourne and Milton Keynes
