Learning Support Mentor, Bury Secondary School, September 2018.

Teaching Personnel are working in association with a newly converted Academy based in Bury, Greater Manchester, for a Learning Support Mentor due to an increased demand within their support department. The role will be through out the new academic year, to work under the guidance of the SENCO supporting pupils to overcome barriers to their learning.

* Full time Learning Support Mentor, Bury Secondary School, September 2018-2019.
* Experience working with SEN is essential; any additional experience supporting young people in an education setting will be highly desirable.
* Flexibility to implement agreed learning activities/teaching in a range of subjects across the school board.
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of young people you are responsible for or come into contact with.

In addition to the ability to perform the duties expected for the Learning Support Mentor role, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children will need to be demonstrate;

* Motivation to work with young people.
* Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people in your care.
* Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes with all levels of learners.

The incoming Learning Support Mentor can expect to be fully supported through CPD training programmes throughout the academic year 2018-2019. You will be joining a developing Secondary school, with just over 800 pupils on roll aged 11- 16, ideally located to be accessed via the M60 and the surrounding areas; Rochdale, Salford and Bolton. The school also has various public transport options with links throughout Greater Manchester.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
