A primary Academy based in Orpington is looking to appoint a new behaviour mentor for their dynamic and inspirational learning support team.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with challenging behaviour, have behaviour management related training e.g. Team Teach, or be willing to participate in such training during the course of the year. Previous experience as a teaching assistant, youth worker or social worker would be highly desirable.

The Academy:

* Provides personalised learning schemes for children who are at risk of, or who have already been permanently excluded from mainstream primary education
* Identifies barriers to learning and aims to remove them, enabling all children to reach their full potential
* Aims to raise standards by promoting a positive ethos at all times, not just in the classroom

The role:

* Full time position based in a key stage 2 class comprised of mostly boys, to start in September 2018
* You will provide 1:1 support for different children, focussing on managing their behaviour and helping them to make the right choices throughout their daily routine
* You must be confident to support in different lessons across the curriculum, but particularly numeracy and literacy up to key stage 2

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
