Teaching Personnel are working with an Outstanding SEN School in the Nottingham City area, which caters for pupils with low functioning Autism.

The school is purpose built and has a broad range of facilities including specialist sensory areas, a dance studio, art studio, Science LAB_13 and training kitchen. They also have a PE hall and a Multi Interactive Learning Enrichment.

The school caters for children aged 5 - 19 and in addition to an academic curriculum the school also enhances the social and emotional development of children through a variety of community based enrichment activities.

The ideal candidate will be:

* Flexible and adaptable to work with a variety of needs and age ranges, as the school cater for students aged between 5-19 years old
* Team Teach trained (desirable but not essential)
* Experienced working with Autistic learners either in residential or school based settings
* Be confident to manage challenging behaviour, in particular for those students who have impaired communication abilities
* Be willing to get involved in team meetings to discuss the progress students (both academically and socially)
* Be willing to get involved in extra-curricular activities including regular trips out into the community to encourage social skills
* A positive role model for the students at all times, encouraging positive social behaviour and engagement within the curriculum
* Able to support both verbal and non-verbal students who may use additional communication aids such as Makaton and PECS
* Confident to differentiate the levels of support depending on the student’s needs and abilities, including those working on P Levels

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
