Due to an increasing workload, our client are now looking for a Quality Health Safety and Environmental Manager to join there busy team in Leeds.

The Role

The QHSE Manager will ensure the Quality and HSE Systems are maintained in accordance with the required standards. The successful post holder will make a significant contribution to manufacturing related projects, and will maintain and enhance customer satisfaction, while maintaining complete adherence of current and future QHSE Management System standards.


You will oversee the management of the Quality Assurance and HSE function of the site.
Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a plan to maintain compliance of the Company`s QHSE Systems and Policies with the requirements of relevant standards. Performance against the plan and compliance with the systems` requirements is to be monitored through performance measures, analysis of data and internal auditing processes.
Develop project specific quality plans for both existing and new projects which are beneficial to the company or is a requirement of the customer.
Work pro-actively with sales within the New Product Introduction processes, to ensure that a smooth transition from enquiry to production implementation is achieved.
Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation as appropriate.
Agree standards and establish clearly defined QHSE procedures and methods for the business operations.
Establish the required controls for the QHSE management system, including document control, process controls, control of records, risk assessments etc.
To investigate accidents or dangerous occurrences as necessary.
To chair relevant QHSE Committee meetings where necessary.
To carry out regular QHSE audits and prepare follow up reports.

Skills and Experience

The successful post-holder will have:
At least two years` experience at a comparable level (at least middle management level).
Comprehensive knowledge of QHSE standards and systems.
Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience of using root cause analysis and problem solving techniques.
NEBOSH/IOSH qualified
Knowledge of process validation techniques
Knowledge of statistical tools and continuous improvement techniques
Trained as a lead auditor in QHSE systems.
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.


Degree qualified or formal qualifications in quality management
An understanding of the finishing and coatings industry would be an advantage
Knowledge and experience of the quality requirements of the oil and gas industry, including Norsok, ASME, Nace etc.
An understanding of lean manufacturing techniques
