WORKING HOURS: Full Time – Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

THE COMPANY: Our client have been leading suppliers of specialist farriery and equine hoofcare products since 1989 and hold large and ongoing stocks in their warehouse based in Daventry, Northamptonshire, U.K. As members of BETA (British Equestrian Trade Association) our client are reliable in providing the highest quality of services and now seek an Assistant Manager. They are looking for someone who has owned or worked with horses, has sales experience and good social media knowledge to join their existing team. 

THE ROLE: As Assistant Manager you will work with and support the Manager and will be responsible for the day to day running of the business in their absence. The Assistant Manager’s role will be multi-faceted and hands-on. In addition to handling/processing sales orders/enquiries and providing general customer service and advice, you will be involved in the management of the social media for the business. You will be trained as an advisor on our client’s hoof boot range and many other products. Other duties will include some warehouse picking and order preparation, dispatch and deliveries, as well general admin tasks such as data entry and updating records. 

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Assistant Manager’s role must own, have previously owned or have worked directly with horses and have some knowledge of the equine industry. It is essential you are familiar with social media and have the ability to implement and become actively involved in the social media methods used by the business. It is also essential candidates have experience in providing sales advice and excellent customer service, as well as experience in carrying out general admin tasks such as processing orders. You should be a motivated and responsible person who can supervise and lead a team. You must have a valid UK Driving Licence and must live within commutable distance of Daventry, Northamptonshire. Candidates must also show a willingness and commitment to learn and undergo product training in our client’s products, particularly hoof boots. 

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Assistant Manager’s role:-

- Must have previously owned or worked with horses
- Must have good numeracy skills
- Experience using Social Media essential
- Experience in a Sales/Customer Service role essential
- Must have ability to carry out general admin duties and good IT skills 
- Must be willing to undergo Hoof Boot and other product training
- Candidates must have a Driving licence and live within commutable distance of Daventry, Northamptonshire
