Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a Pupil Referral Unit based in West Denton to recruit a teaching assistant experienced in supporting KS2-KS4 pupils with SEMH. The role is to commence in September with the possibility of a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Ideally applicants would have experience working with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, challenging behaviours and mild-moderate learning difficulties in a alternative provision/PRU setting. An additional qualification such as Team Teach is desired but not mandatory. Applications are welcome from teaching assistants, support workers and youth workers.

Our ideal candidate will have:

-Minimum 6 months experience supporting students with SEMH in a mainstream or specialist setting

-Team Teach Trained and a good understanding of SEMH/EBD

-Patient and nurturing mannerism

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
