Title - Maintenance Engineer

Location - Wirral

Salary - �30,000 going to �35,000 after 12 months

Shift pattern - 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights


Global production business which supplies into the cosmetic, FMCG and food & beverage markets worldwide.
Their industry sector is considered Ultra-High Production as they produce 1 billion containers a year and are the largest plastic container manufacturer in the world!

To cope with ultra-high demand, they have unique service offerings, a sister company which is based in Europe which designs and manufactures special purpose machinery and have also patented manufacturing techniques which have reduced their waste from 30% to a mere 2%!

This site is the largest of the 5 UK sites in terms of plant size, production volumes and employees. It is also their head office and home to the R&D team.

Within the site, you can expect to find an array of machines, this includes; 22 high speed lines which operate 24/7 365, pellet silo's, blending machinery, vacuum transfer systems, injection blow moulders, camera quality inspection systems, slat conveyors, robotic tray loaders and tray stack elevators.


You will be responsible for PPM and reactive maintenance duties across the capital equipment along with project work which includes building up new systems and upgrades.
Being the environment that is it, responding to and fixing reactive breakdowns is a pivotal part of the role.

70% Electrical - reading electrical schematic diagrams, fault finding across 24v, 110n single and 3 phase electrics via a multimeter, a PLC and HMI's. Changing electrical components such as limit switches, photocells, reflectors, network cabling, inverters, servo motors and heater bands, contactors, relays and sensors, running new cables and trunking. You can also expect to isolate and change motors, sensors and fuses to name but a few things.

Mechanically - fault finding and changing mechanical components parts, visual inspections, changing oil, hydraulic pumps, hoses, cylinders, rams, valves, pneumatic cylinders, bearings, conveyor slats, chains, injector nozzles, screw conveyors, hoppers and other mechanical component parts.

PLC - Checking inputs and outputs.


To be successful in your application for Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer, we are looking for someone who is;

* Based in Wirral
* Is electrically biased and qualified
* Have a background in FMCG
* Eager to learn as you will be trained on the job, in Europe and will go on courses which include Siemens PLC training
