The company

Our client is looking to appoint an Accounts Director as soon as possible to develop strategic, proactive relationships with potential sponsors and corporate partners for our Client`s annual programme of events and activities.

The role

The Account Director is responsible for seeking out and closing new business opportunities through active prospecting, networking and utilising business referrals both within new and existing accounts.
This position acts as the primary contact for our Client`s event sponsors and is responsible for overseeing the delivery and execution of the partnership strategy, ensuring value is continuously being delivered to their client.
National and international travel may be required.

Duties and responsibilities

Business Development

- Proactively generate, qualify and close new sponsorship opportunities within your target set of accounts
- Map each Account identifying the key influencers, budget-holders, buyers, subject matter experts and central contacts, ensuring this information is accurate and kept up to date on the Company`s CRM system
- Negotiate and close business while managing the client relationship throughout the sales and implementation process
- Accurate forecasting of revenue and sales cycles, ensuring pipeline is updated at all times
- Work collaboratively with the Marketing team to create and present compelling proposals and documents that outline the benefits of partnering with our Client and how this will deliver ROI to the client
- Proactively participate in our Client`s Community, through social media and providing content and commentary for Editorial where appropriate

Account Management

- Develop, grow and retain relationships within each Account ensuring regular face to face meetings, telephone calls and emails
- Understand clients` buying processes and proactively identify opportunities to upscale existing Accounts, initiating actions to take advantage of them
- Prepare and present year-long campaigns of activity to each Account which are in-line with their relationship marketing objectives that are mutually beneficial to Members
- To oversee the delivery of all elements of the campaigns and any additional ad hoc activities or engagements
- Identify at-risk Accounts and develop solutions to ensure retention
- Educate Partners on how to use the Community in the most effective way to develop and maintain trusting and long-term relationships with Members
- Negotiate and close year on year renewals with Partners to meet annual revenue targets
- Keep up to date with industry news and thought leadership output from Partners, attending external events as necessary
- Track, record and prepare internal and external reporting metrics
- Actively ensure that all activities and conversations with Partners are grounded in the overarching purpose of our Client


- Work collaboratively with internal teams on event programming and connections to ensure maximum value is being delivered to Partners
