WORKING HOURS: 39 per week – Shift Pattern

THE COMPANY: Our client who run a fleet of 88 buses with 240 drivers from their Peterborough based depot are now looking to recruit a Shift Fitter / Mechanic to join their team in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

THE ROLE: Shift Fitter / Mechanic (PCV/HGV)-Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
For the role of Shift Fitter / Mechanic you will be based at the Peterborough depot where you will part of a dedicated team in “keeping the show on the road”. Your role will vary as you will use your skills and knowledge to undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance, service and repair on the fleet of buses.

As a Skilled Shift Fitter you would work a variety of shifts on 5 days out of 7 basis and your role would include maintaining and repairing the Company's vehicles to the strict standards set by both the company and the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency)

Key Responsibilities: Shift Fitter / Mechanic (PCV/HGV)-Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

- Repairing and maintaining the Company's fleet of modern vehicles to a high
- Carrying our roadside and running repairs as necessary standard
- Carrying out preventative maintenance

THE CANDIDATE: We are looking for a friendly, flexible and reliable Mechanic/Engineer who is able
to work on their own initiative and will enjoy being part of a friendly and dedicated team.

Key experience essential for the role: Shift Fitter / Mechanic (PCV/HGV)-Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

You should ideally be qualified to the following level: PCV or HGV City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in mechanics

- Have experience in a similar role from a mechanical background( Commercial/ HGV/PSV and will consider newly qualified mechanics)
- Have a full UK driving licence
- HGV or PCV licence would be desirable but not essential
- Able to work evenings and weekends on a rota’s shift pattern basis
