The ideal candidate will be someone who possesses a British Sign Language certificate as the school has received a child who is partially deaf and non verbal. The school is looking to provide the child with the care and support they need to flourish throughout their time at the school and aid in their ability to succeed both academically and socially.

Your everyday task will be working on a 1-1 basis with the pupil and on an occasion supporting a class full of pupils with differing learning abilities. The class sizes do vary but usually consist of around 14 to 21 young children who have excellent behaviour. Additionally, you will support the class teacher with various activities throughout the day. There are around five children in the year group who require additional support and if their teaching assistant is away your role will be able to conduct group activities which would help them to feel more comfortable within a classroom environment, become more confident and learn social confidence. Additionally, if you have any experience working with vulnerable children in a classroom environment with any learning difficulties such as: Autism, Down Syndrome, or Hearing and Visual Impairment; we would like to here from you!

What we are looking for?

* Passionate about supporting vulnerable children
* Possess a Valid DBS certificate
* Has KS1 or KS2 Experience
* Experience working with SEN pupils (essential)
* Minimum Level 1 BSL Certificate

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
