I am currently working with a mixed SEN secondary school situated near Woolwich, catering for children with PMLD, including verbal and non-verbal autism. The school have an opportunity for a teaching assistant to take on a provisionally fixed term contract from September until Christmas, that could be extended for the right candidate.

If you are looking for a new role within education, this could be the opportunity for you! Having the following qualities, experience or being open to carrying out the following duties would be beneficial for taking on the role at this school:

* Previous experience of supporting children with PMLD/ASC in either a mainstream or SEN school
* Willing to support 1:1 or small groups
* Educated up to A levels or degree level
* Training in PECS/ Makaton/BSL/Team Teach/Moving and Handling
* Nurturing attitude
* Calm and patient manner
* Able to provide personal care, including assisting with toileting

To work with Teaching Personnel you will be required to pass our vetting process. This involves having a child workforce DBS registered to the update service, being able to provide a full career history for at least the last 6 years and being able to provide excellent references from your two most recent employers.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
