Full time Science Learning Support Mentors required from September 2018, Bury based Secondary school.

Teaching Personnel in partnership with our client Secondary school based in Bury, Greater Manchester, are seeking to appoint several Science specialist Learning Support Mentors, to work in their school ahead of the new academic year.

With an increased demand in the Science department, there are several gaps for additional Science Learning Support Mentors to work alongside the class teacher, under the guidance of Senior Leadership.

* Full time Science Learning Support Mentor roles, Bury based Secondary school. September 2018.
* A Science specific qualification is essential to be considered.
* Additional experience supporting pupils in Science within a classroom capacity is highly desirable.
* Experience working with SEN, challenging behaviour and or social emotional and mental health issues will be extremely beneficial.
* Initially on a temporary supply basis with the potential to progress onto a long term fixed contract.
* Competitive rates of pay.

The incoming Science Learning Support Mentors will be joining a growing department working with young people across the school board at various levels of learning and can expect to receive full guidance and support from an assigned Mentor and or Specialist Education Consultant.

As Science Learning Support Mentors you will be expected to;

* Work within the Science department supporting pupils 1:1 or in small intervention groups and deliver pre-planned Science lessons with full guidance and support to identified pupils.
* Take a flexible, empathetic and resilient approach to all pupils and promote good behaviour, relative to the school behaviour strategy.
* Help support the class teacher in order to keep pupils engaged; bridging the gap between them and their peers.

This Ofsted rated ‘Good’ secondary school; with just over 900 pupils on roll, aged 11-16, is based in a small diverse town in Bury, Greater Manchester. It is easily accessible via the M60 and has a range of public transport options available with links throughout Greater Manchester.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
