This immediate opportunity exists to join this exciting organisation on a 3/4month contract offering up to £30,000

Title of Post: Document Controller
Department: Information and Document Management
Reports to: Project Field Engineer

1. Purpose of the Job
To support the Employer in managing all project records for a particular contract or
project using the appropriate electronic data management system(s).

2. Principal Accountabilities
Support the Employer in relation to the following:
• Maintaining Dataset Registers
• Maintaining Document Control Filing
• Producing reports to Site Team Engineers when necessary
• Photocopying/Scanning Of Documents Prior To Uploading Into The Project
• Issuing Of Document Reference Numbers (When Required)
• Issuing Of Correspondence (If Required)
• Archiving/Retrieval

3. Main challenges of the job
To support the Employer by:
• Assisting The Site Administrator in Maintaining the Integrity of The Data
• Assisting The Project Manager In package issues
• Assisting Site Team Engineers In Document/Admin Duties
• Prioritising competing requirements in a timely manner
• Building an effective working relationship with the project team.

5. Person Specification
• Knowledge of document management standards, procedures and instructions
• Working knowledge of computer programs for records tracking, archival,
retention, and storage
• Sufficient experience of documentation and processes within an engineering
based environment.
• Working knowledge of bulk scanning and scanning systems
• Full knowledge of Document Management Procedures and Processes
• Knowledge of ISO 9000 Data Management
• Knowledge of Data Management Procedures
• Knowledge of Design, Vendor, Construction, NEC3 Data processes
• Working knowledge of the use of EDMS – Intermediate Level
• Literacy in Microsoft Software Systems – Word and Excel – Intermediate Level
• Full knowledge of process on scanning and PDF functionality
• Knowledge of a typical Engineering construction project lifecycle
• Knowledge of Construction Environment Lifecycle
• Knowledge of Railway Construction preferable
