VPI Immingham is a combined heat and power plant near Immingham, on the south bank of the river Humber. It is one of the largest CHP plants in Europe, capable of generating 1240MW – approx 2.1% of UK electricity peak demand and up to 930 tonnes of steam per hour. Safety is at the core of the business and great care is taken to ensure the safety of personnel, and to protect the surrounding environment. We are a team of just over 60 people so team work, empowerment and responsibility are vital to our success and we are looking for 2 new people to join our team.

Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer

(please quote reference EC&I)

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the management of the Electrical Control and Instrument assets, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and with the long term reliability of the equipment.

Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities

- Accountable for HSE and legislative compliance of EC&I assets.
- Site expert for Electrical assets and C&I systems with attention to integrity and life management control and guidance.
- Problem solving and investigating failures and deterioration mechanisms.
- Preparation of technical specifications and delivery of projects safely, on time and in budget.
- Preparation for EC&I maintenance contracts and work.
- Design Authority for discipline engineering modifications
- Responsible for the development of Risk
- Based Maintenance (RBM) Strategies for EC&I Assets.
- Responsible for networking and gaining knowledge of relevant new technologies in relation to EC&I asset management.
- Lead, supervise, coach and appraise a small team of EC&I technicians and prepare development plans.
- Provide technical direction to maintenance and Operations personnel

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

- Chartered Engineer (or working towards Chartership) with a primary degree in Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering,
- Detailed knowledge in the field of DCS, Instrumentation and/or Electrical equipment
