About the company:

Our client operates a world scale wheat to bioethanol & animal feed plant which is based on the Saltend Chemicals complex in Hull. There is also a commercial & finance office to the west of Hull in Hessle. Our client is apart of the AB Sugar group of companies within Associated British Foods (ABF).

About the Reliability Manager role:

The main purpose of this role is to develop and then proactively and professionally drive forward our clients reliability improvement programme through leading a multi-disciplined and structured approach and by influencing the culture to embrace the direction.

The Reliability Manager is a key role in the Operations team and will provide input into the overall operations strategy.

The Reliability Manager must be confident in dealing with people and be able to champion the value of robust reliability strategies to all levels in the organisation. They should have the ability to demonstrate the delivery of effective reliability improvements in a complex, high hazard process plant (ideally a COMAH plant).

Responsibilities of the Reliability Manager:

* Set business strategy for the Reliability Programme. Develop and own the work processes
* Promote upskilling of the organisation in reliability processes and approve personnel as they complete their training. Tutor and mentor trainees and practitioners in the use of reliability tools (PM optimisation, RCM, RCA, FMEA, RBI etc)
* Experienced leader in plant utilising condition monitoring maintenance tools (Vibration, Ultrasound, Thermography, etc)
* Work collaboratively with site teams to develop, maintain and compile asset reliability, criticality and condition information necessary for the asset planning, delivery and maintenance strategies
* Lead site Reliability efforts through Loss Registration, Loss Analysis and Asset Portfolio planning
* Lead multi-functional Root Cause investigations considering all aspects of plant operation, control, maintenance and environmental conditions
* Develop and implement practical and cost effective Equipment Maintenance Strategies through application of maintenance improvement tools (PM Optimization, RCM, RCA, FMEA, RBI, etc.)
* Ensure Maintenance strategies are kept up to date based on analysis of the inspection result
* In collaboration with the Technical Engineers, ensure Equipment Maintenance Strategies are consistent and standard across the business
* Audit compliance and adherence to Equipment Maintenance strategies
* Drive data archiving through CMMS to ensure Loss Registration (both lost opportunity and costs) is maintained
* Drive asset data archiving to ensure our asset database is complete.

Requirements of the Reliability Manager:

* Degree (or equivalent experience) in an Engineering discipline
* Ideally a chartered engineer or working towards that goal
* Thorough understanding of relevant legislation to ensure maintenance systems comply with regulations such as DSEAR, LOLER, EAWR, PUWER, etc
* A minimum of 5 years in a similar role on a complex process plant
* Ability and broad engineering understanding to apply reliability principles across the process, mechanical, electrical and control/instrumentation functions
* Displays and expects the highest possible HSSEQ standards at all times
* A proactive, challenging and questioning style to drive implementation of effective and pr
