SALARY & BENEFITS: Up to £30K per annum plus Benefits

WORKING HOURS: Mon- Thurs 8am – 4.15pm (30 mins lunch)
Fri 8am -3.15pm (30 mins lunch)

THE ROLE: Engineering Tutor & Technician (Mechanical & Electrical)
Engineering subjects are more popular than ever, and due to the national skills shortage of well trained professionals, Training Providers are now looking to recruit industry professionals to pass on their expertise to the next generation. You might be surprised to know that you don’t need a teaching qualification, just a willingness to obtain one

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Engineering Tutors & Technicians (Mechanical & Electrical)
Ensure a Professional and safe learning environment is maintained in the Skills
Training Centre.
Train and assess Learners in a range of basic and specialist Mechanical/Electrical skills to the standard required by relevant Award Organisations to Levels 1, 2, 3 EAL
Provide Information, Advice and Guidance to Learners throughout the apprenticeship. On-going assessment of evidence produced towards the Apprenticeship Standards and Functional Skills qualifications.

Very keen to speak to Professionals with specialisms in these subjects:
(Or indeed those individuals, occupationally competent to Train to Teach)


- Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering

Requirements: Engineering Tutor & Technician (Mechanical & Electrical)

Please state which requirements are desirable and which are essential

- Time served experience– Mechanical/ Electrical qualifications - E
- Relevant level 3 qualification in related subject specialism - E
- Cert Ed or other relevant certification or experience -D
- Previous experience in a training/supervisory capacity (if you have trained an apprentice this is ideal)- D
- Support of functional skills - D
- Assessor qualification (A units) - D
- Verification qualification (V units) - D
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification - D
- Abundance of enthusiasm and a strong desire to inspire the next generation - E
- Ability to relate to and motivate learners of all ages- E
- Excellent organisation and planning skills - E
- Patience and a sense of humour!- E
