Teaching Personnel are currently supporting a primary school in central York with their recruitment for a specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join their school from September 2018. This role will be full time on a temporary basis, with a view to a permnant role.

With the new cohort of pupils arriving this September, our client school are looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to support Early Years pupils who require additional support as they transition into school life.

The school is a small, catholic primary school with a friendly team of staff and supportive senior leadership.

Your roles and responsibilities will include:

* 1:1 support for SEN pupils
* Liaising with the SENCO, staff and parents to help best support the pupils
* Supporting in the EYFS department
* Participating in the wider school life

The ideal candidate will hold an education based or Teaching Assistant qualification and be passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs. Ideally, you will have experience supporting challenging pupils and be able to generate new ideas to help pupils progress. We are looking for a proactive individual who is adaptable.

Team Teach or Moving and Handing qualifications would be highly beneficial. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and attend these courses if not.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
