THE COMPANY: Our client is located in the County Antrim countryside on the outskirts of Ballymena, just 30 minutes from Belfast, and is the perfect setting for any occasion. Whether you are planning a picturesque wedding, a relaxing weekend away, or an afternoon tea with friends, our client can cater for all needs.

Due to the continued successful growth, they now seek an experienced Second Chef / Sous Chef to join their existing busy kitchen based in Kells, (Ballymena) County Antrim (commutable from Belfast, Larne, Antrim). 

THE ROLE: As a Second Chef / Sous Chef you will join an established and busy Kitchen and whilst working under the Head Chef you will assist with the preparation and cooking of a range of formal and informal lunches and dinners for guests and special events held at the hotel. You will ensure the highest standards of food is continuously delivered for our client's weddings guests, hotel guests and members of the general public visiting the restaurant for lunch and dinner, whilst adhering to and following strict Food Hygiene standards at all times. 

You will also be responsible for the running of the Kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef so this is a great opportunity for someone with experience in a Kitchen setting looking to develop skills and make that next step and progress their career. 

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Second Chef / Sous Chef role will have a minimum of a Level 2 NVQ in Catering (or equivalent qualification) as well as a Food Hygiene Certificate and must have previous experience working in a busy kitchen setting. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work on your own initiative as well as a positive work attitude which are all essential attributes to succeed in this role. Candidate must be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends on a shared rota basis and due to the rural location of the Hotel and lack of public transport during certain times, candiadtes must have adequate means to commute to Kells, (Ballymena) County Antrim (commutable from Belfast, Larne, Antrim). 

Key experience essential for the Second Chef / Sous Chef's role in Kells, (Ballymena) County Antrim:

Must have Level 2 NVQ in Catering (or equivalent qualification)
Must have a valid Food Hygiene Certificate 
Previous experience working in a Kitchen setting essential 
Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to work using own initiative is essential 
Must be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends on a shared rota basis
Must be able to commute to Kells, Ballymena, County Antrim
