JOB TITLE: Girls’ Games Teacher

THE COMPANY: Our client is a thriving, co-educational day and boarding Prep school located near the A23 in West Sussex in Handcross. The School is set in 50 acres of stunning woodland and grounds, and presents a marvellous working environment. They have an exciting opportunity available for a Girls’ Games Teacher to join their team. 

Key Responsibilities/duties of a Girls’ Games Teacher to include:- 

• Coach one or more of the following sports; hockey, netball, football, rounders and cricket.
• Help develop and implement a Games curriculum within the PE and Sport Department and ensure the delivery of high quality provision in all curricular and extra-curricular activities.
• Plan, implement and monitor schemes of work, to provide a broad range of opportunities for pupils.
• Help Head of PE and Sport Department to manage budgets, liaising with the Bursar and Headmaster on capital expenditure.
• Assess the performance of pupils and record their development, progress and attainment, using this to plan for future progress.
• Provide clear structures for lessons, and for sequences of lessons, in the short, medium and longer term, which maintain pace, motivation and challenge.

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the Girls’ Games Teacher will be a friendly and outgoing person. You will need confidence, energy, ideas, be able to build rapport with young children. Good communication with parents is key for the role together with the desire to be part of an amazing team and work for one of the leading independent schools in Sussex. You will need to live within a commutable distance to Handcross.

Key experience essential for the role of Girls’ Games Teacher:- 

• Relevant games coaching and life saving qualifications (where required).
• A commitment to the learning and development of children
