Job Description:
Our client who is an iconic luxury sports car manufacturer, is currently recruiting for the following role:

Job Purpose
Test and development engineer for Damping, Air and eARC (electric Active Roll Control) systems.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
• Liaise with component engineers to develop component, system and vehicle level tests for Design Verification purposes
• Compile required tests to verify components though development phases and into production manufacture
• Collaborate with application engineers to ensure testing is completed to meet programme gateways
• Develop client specific test specifications and procedures
• Define tests requirements with suppliers and manage and track the progress of testing at the supplier
• Organise and manage components required for rig testing both at client and supplier
• Design rigs, jigs and fixturing for bench testing and development of components
• Manage the instrumentation of vehicles if required for specific tests
• Lead and support vehicle based testing at various global locations
• Develop and maintain precise records of tests and test results
• Produce client test reports for submission to sign off components
• System Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis creation, maintenance and verification
• Liaise with Adams simulation team for component loading information
• Liaise with CAE department to develop correlation between simulation and physical testing

Qualifications and Experience
• Engineering Degree in appropriate discipline or relevant experience
• Experience gained working with the test and development of vehicles and/or components
• Knowledge of suspension component requirements
• Understanding of component design process
• Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis process
• Report writing confident in ability to interpret and post process results and make recommendations, written and verbal.
• Ability to create and maintain timing plans and ensure they are adhered to
• Knowledge of industry standard specifications and procedures
• Experience with vehicle diagnostic software.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems including 48Vs.
• Knowledge of CAE techniques and results analysis
• Mechanical Component testing (Essential)
• Vehicle level testing (Essential)
• Rig testing (Essential)
• Instrumentation and measurement methods (Essential)
• Hyperworks (Desirable)
• MS Office: Excel, Word, Project, Visio (Desirable)
• Vector e.g. CANape (Desirable)

Location: Midlands based across various sites
