About the IT Support Technician role:

The purpose of this role is to lead on ICT within the company. The IT Support Technician will be responsible for the successful development and management of ICT infrastructure and projects across the company, ensuring that the company's ICT is maintained at a level commensurate with an efficient and innovative business.

Responsibilities of the IT Support Technician role:

* To ensure that the network is well managed, with minimal downtime. This includes planning all maintenance and upgrades and escalating issues to third party support when necessary.
* To carry out all network administration including daily virus and security checks and managing user access and accounts. Will also upkeep all network documentation and ISO related maintenance records.
* To ensure that the system is accessible, protected and secure. This includes the creation and regular review of a Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan documents.
* To ensure the company has an ICT Strategy able to create and sustain competitive advantage for the business.
* To ensure that the ITC department as a whole (offices, server room, equipment) are always kept in order and in a presentable state.
* To manage the strategic development of our clients online presence. This includes the websites and development of an Intranet which will incorporate the Knowledge Management system.
* To manage the ICT budget by planning and monitoring both the capital and revenue streams. All major system upgrades need to be planned into the budget at the beginning of the finanical year as well as any new departmental requirements arising from new business.
* To manage the desktop support to all staff and associate. This includes running an ICT induction for all new staff and running occasional in-house training courses about internal systems. Also to liaise with HR about specific external ICT training for all staff.
* Top notch communication and presentation skills to explain processes, identify and resolve issues and maintain a working office infrastructure
* To maintain productive relationships and effective communications with the service divisions so any changes to ICT requirements can be anticipated and actioned quickly.
* To advise on the capabilities of new equipment reaching the market that might extend the functionality and capability of the ICT systems.
* To identify and co-ordinate the resources required to deliver ICT projects including staff, materials and facilities.
* Such other duties as may be required to ensure the effective management of allocated projects.
* Strong focus on producing high quality support documentation and Knowledge articles
* An inquisitive nature, determine root cause should be a constant driver for improvement
* Demonstrated ability to manage projects and prioritise business needs against IT resources availability.

Requirements of the IT Support Technician:

Essential:

* Knowledge of Windows Server 2003 - 2012, Windows 7 - 10 management and Office 365.
* Email Exchange 2
* Firewall security
* Hardware maintenance
* MS SQL App
