Science teacher required for September 2018 start date

Due to an internal promotion, this school based near Shaw in Oldham is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced Science teacher to begin in the new academic year. The position will commence initially on a long-term supply basis with a view to the appointed candidate going on a permanent contract after a successful term. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a school with Good behaviour with a steady rise of attainment over recent years.

Our client school is smaller in comparison to a number of Oldham schools and has a strong community feel due to the respectful attitudes of pupils who engage with their education, which is accredited to the high standards of teaching across the board. The school is well lead by the Principal and their senior leadership team; the academy sponsors also provide support with CPD for staff development. The majority of students on roll are from minority ethnic backgrounds and the number of students who speaking English as an additional language is above the national average. The school moved in to a purpose built site and the incoming Science teacher will benefit from outstanding provisions for learning.

To be considered for this position, you will need to have Qualified Teacher Status and experience delivering core Science and a specialism to GCSE level. The school expects the successful candidate to teach Science lessons that lead to excellent student progress and engage the students. An ability to develop positive relationships with students is preferred, and those who can encourage disengaged students will be highly desirable.
