I am currently working SEN schools in the Bournemouth area, catering for students with a range of needs, including autism and challenging behaviour. They regularly need to cover staff absences - illness, trips, training courses, medical appointments etc and I am looking for flexible SEN teaching assistants who would be able to do this kind of cover work.

If you are looking for flexible part time work as an SEN teaching assistant this could be the perfect opportunity for you! Having the following qualities, experience, or being open to carrying out the following duties would be beneficial for work in these type of SEN schools:

* Previous experience of supporting children with PMLD/ASC/challenging behaviour in either a mainstream or SEN school
* Willing to support 1:1 or small groups and provide personal care where necessary
* Educated up to A levels or degree level
* Training in PECS/ Makaton/BSL/Team Teach/Moving and Handling
* Nurturing attitude
* Calm and patient manner
* Ability to manage challenging behaviour

To work with Teaching Personnel you will be required to pass our vetting process, which involves having a DBS registered to the update service, being able to provide a full career history for at least the last 6 years and being able to provide excellent references from your two most recent employers. You will also need to come to interview either at our Southampton office or at one of our Bournemouth open days.

Teaching Personnel can offer access to CPD training courses that are either free or at a reduced cost, competitive pay rates, a dedicated SEN consultant to liaise with, further career opportunities and permanent job offers.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
