OHES Environmental Limited (OHES), part of the Adler and Allan Group, is a multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy operating across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. OHES has grown and diversified over the last 16 years to a point where our business is led and staffed by some of the brightest and most experienced consultants in the UK market place.

The Environmental Claims Management (ECM) Division provides contaminated land consultancy services to the insurance industry, managing claims through their whole life cycle including site investigation, risk assessment, remedial strategy design and remediation validation.

OHES Environmental is now seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Environmental Consultant, who can make an immediate contribution and adapt to an environment of growth within the ECM team in Northern Ireland.

Reporting to the Principal Consultant, the Senior Environmental Consultant will utilise technical knowledge of contaminated land consultancy to carry out environmental investigation, assessment, reporting, remediation verification and 'cradle to grave' project management of environmental insurance claims. In addition, and due to the seniority of the post, the postholder will hold responsibility for the technical and financial performance of any project on which they are deployed.

This will be a home-based role however the postholder will be required to attend any group office / site as and when required, or instructed by their Line Manager.

Proof of the right to work in the UK is required, as is satisfying a DBS check to satisfy client requirements. As the postholder will be required to travel to any location any location within the Company's operational footprint; possession of a full, clean UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Duties of the Senior Environmental Consultant:

* Providing specialist consultancy advice and response, mainly to petrochemical incidents;
* Leading and supervising project management of environmental insurance claims;
* Liaison with all stakeholders including clients, contractors and homeowners;
* Achieving a utilisation target of 77%;
* Undertaking investigations to determine the extent and severity of impact and assessing environmental risks;
* Logging of soils during investigations to a high standard and in accordance with best practice;
* Preparing health, safety and environmental documentation including risk assessments and method statements;
* Management of site investigation field and laboratory data;
* Production of interpretive environmental reports including conceptual site models (CSM) and generic quantitative risk assessments (GQRA);
* Undertaking and supporting the design, implementation and verification of environmental remediation works;
* Demonstrating a commitment to ensuring consistently high levels of safety, technical robustness, commercial awareness, organisation and customer satisfaction;
* Undertaking quality assurance and safety performance audits;
* Participating in business development activities as a technical advisor and managing key clients.

The role can be physically demanding, carrying out site investigations using soil sampling equipment in all terrains and all weather.
