Our client is a UK market leader and provides professional financial and business services to a wide range of companies. They have an excellent reputation for their services, are well established and provide independent professional advice and solutions relating to corporate finance.

This is a new position within the company and reporting directly to the Regional Sales Director. The longer term plan is to grow the team in Sheffield so with this in mind we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, professional and self-motivated telesales/business development person to contribute in generating sales opportunities.

Within the role you would be responsible for discussing the financial performance of UK registered businesses with a view to advising potential clients of services that may be available to them in order to strengthen their position. Predominantly this would be in the unsecured business loans arena but could move into invoice financing or other finance related business services. The role will ultimately involve closing business over the phone, arranging client meetings for senior colleagues and maintaining good customer relationships and updating the CRM systems in order to keep on top of current and future business opportunities.

You really need to be an excellent communicator and have exceptional rapport building skills as well as being comfortable presenting products or services over the phone. Not all potential customers are going to need your services so a resilient attitude and the ability to self-motivate and deal with the general goings on within the business world is a must. You need to keep in mind that your salary is paid for all the `no thanks` you`re going to get, and your commission is paid for all the `yes please` you secure!

The ultimate goal is to help the company grow by bringing on board new customers and developing business in the region.

The main responsibilities of the role will include:

- Contact potential clients from a database in order to obtain clear financial information and a general overview of a business and its financial position
- Provide information relating to relevant products or services using structured sales techniques
- Arrange face to face appointments for senior colleagues to meet potential clients
- Enter and update customer information in the database / CRM system
- Keep records of calls and sales and note useful information
- Go the `extra mile` to meet customer expectations and add value to the customer, the business and the team

We are looking for:

- Experience within a B2B business development/telesales role (ideally finance or accountancy)
- Ability to learn about commercial financial products and services and describe/explain them to potential clients
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Resilient nature with the ability to handle rejection
- Decent negotiation skills with the ability to resolve issues with a commercial outlook
- Good knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g. CRM software) and telephone systems
- Friendly, well presented, enthusiastic
- Highly organised
- Hard working and driven to succeed
