Our client secondary school is looking to recruit an English graduate to support within their English department during the next academic year. The school is looking for a recent graduate of English or a related subject such as English Language or Literature, Classics, linguistics or a Literature based degree. The role will entail supporting students within a class setting as well as supporting with focussed intervention in small groups.

This English support role would suit an English graduate who is looking for a role within the education sector or perhaps as a future teacher. This is a full time teaching assistant role placed within the English department, starting in September for a term in the first instance, with the ‘right’ candidate being kept on throughout the spring and summer term to assist with examinations and higher level KS4 intervention.

The successful English graduate will be fulfilling the role as a Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant supporting in an academic sense with all ages and abilities. There will be an element of Literacy support with year 7s that aren’t yet secondary school ready, supporting with reading, writing and spelling. There will also be elements of supporting higher level learning such as Anthology, Poetry and Language based lessons. This will stand the successful graduate in great stead for a potential future as an English teacher.

This secondary school is situated in the central Manchester area of the actual city centre. The school is an academic school with students being engaged with their learning and enjoy being at school. The school has a large on site car park and is set a 5 minute walk from the local main road where buses regularly service the area. The school is also a 20 minute walk from the main train station in Manchester making it very accessible for all applicants.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
