Following an increase in workload alongside our growth aspirations, we are currently looking to recruit a Lighting and Landscape Assessor to join our Environmental team based in our Reading or Bristol offices on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast growing multi-disciplinary consultancy.
We are undertaking projects across sectors including major residential, mixed-use and infrastructure developments helping to secure and implement planning permissions. We are currently supporting some of the country’s most significant regeneration, development and infrastructure projects and are seeking a candidate whose ambition matches our own. Current and recent projects include The Vale (4,500 homes south west of Bristol), up to 6,500 new homes east of Biggleswade, townscape assessment for towers of up to 40 storeys and nationally significant infrastructure projects such as Abergelli Power Station and Prime Energy in Bedfordshire.
The role offers the opportunity to work in a truly multi-disciplinary environment, giving access to a broad knowledge base with the support of experts across the business. It is anticipated that the role will involve supporting and managing the delivery of lighting projects and providing support to our landscape, townscape and visual consultancy projects, as part of PBA’s integrated environmental services, including:
�Lighting Impact Assessment
�Landscape / Townscape Impact Assessment
�Visual Impact Assessment

You will work closely with a range of clients, including blue-chip organisations, property developers and local authorities.
About You
The successful candidate will have a minimum three years’ relevant experience and will have a BSc, BA or MSc in a relevant subject, or the equivalent level qualification.
The successful candidate should have:
�Broad understanding of environmental issues and disciplines;
�Good knowledge of the planning system and development management procedures;
�Capable of working on your own initiative or part of a team;
�Ability to organise project teams and to manage and collect multiple data sources;
�Excellent written and oral communication skills;
�Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and recording baseline views using a DSLR camera and appropriate imaging software would be useful but not essential (with training available as required);
�Confidence in engaging with local authority lighting and/or landscape officers to agree assessment viewpoint locations; and
�Able to engage with clients and confident in liaising with all levels of management both internally and externally.
Ideally the applicant will be able to demonstrate competency and flexibility to meet the demands of the role.
