Teaching Personnel Manchester Secondary branch are working closely with a well-regarded mixed secondary school to aid their September recruitment. Due to changes within the support staff structure and with the new intake in mind, the school have 2 positions available and seek to hire an SEN teaching assistant to work on a full time basis. The position will be working alongside the schools SENCO and Inclusion co-ordinator, supporting children with Autism in the schools on-site ASC resource. Previous experience working with special needs, particularly Autism is desired, you’ll be fully supported by the school and given excellent training to develop your knowledge of SEN and ability to provide sufficient support to children throughout the school (11-18).

Situated in the Cheshire East local authority, south of Stockport via the A34 and connecting to Manchester via a reliable train line and other forms of public transport. This is a large secondary school with a great reputation for providing first rate support to children with Special Educational Needs. The number of children on roll in school with SEN is well above the national average, particularly those with Autism. The school has great facilities and up to date technology within classrooms, their ASC resource is a base for children with Autism and the position would predominantly be based within this setting.

This is a full time position to join the school as an SEN teaching assistant, you will provide support to improve children’s academic ability and also to improve their social skills and confidence within every day school life. Due to the lateness of this vacancy, the school are seeking to hire through Teaching Personnel with a view to then becoming a contracted post and possibly permanent. Previous experience in a similar post is required, you’ll need to have suitable references and an enhanced DBS certificate also for vetting purposes.
