A larger than average primary school in the Firswood area of Trafford (M16) is looking for a full time teaching assistant to join their team on a full time basis starting in September. This full time teaching assistant position which will run for the full academic year. The opportunity to work on to a school based contract may be possible for the right person.

The successful candidate will be expected to support a Year 4 child on a 1:1 basis who has severe Autism. The child regularly shows challenging behaviours and works from a tailored EHCP. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with specific needs and will be required to work closely with the schools SENCO to monitor and assess the child’s progression.

The role is to work in a lovely, 3 form entry primary school. The school encourages all children to ‘enjoy learning’ and aims to make its pupils resilient, life-long learners.’ The school are looking for a friendly, proactive support assistant who is flexible and who works well as part of a team.

To be considered for this position, you will:

* Have prior experience working with children with special educational needs
* Be able to adapt learning to suit the needs of the child
* Have the ability to implement strong behaviour management techniques where necessary
* Be eager to develop your career in education

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
