Technical Sales Manager (Marine) working for a leading global speciality chemicals company involved in offering fuel solutions to the Maritime industry in offering, fuel oil additives and marine diesel treatments that are guaranteed to optimize engine reliability, boost performance, improve fuel economy and reduce maintenance requirements.

The Technical Sales Manager (France, Spain & Africa) will be an important member of the global marine business team, working closely with the Marine Sales Director for EMEA.

Key Responsibilities will be: -
Responsible for the delivery of the Marine sales targets within France, Spain and Africa.
Identifies new, attractive customers through agreed segmentation processes (working to an Individual Sales Plan) and develops profitable sales in line with the marine business growth strategy within France, Spain, Africa and the wider EMEA Marine business.
Provides technical service and develops relationships with existing customers and designated key accounts to secure sustainable business streams.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with the technical service, supply chain product management organisations, both local and global, to achieve the agreed plans.
Attends sales visits in order make technical presentations
Technically supports customer visits, exhibitions, conferences etc. and participates in significant tender processes recommending products and their application together with monitoring protocols.
Frequent travel across France, Spain and Africa and less frequently across the wider EMEA region in order to supervise and monitor field trials including the need to physically dose products, optimise treatment levels and perform on-site monitoring tests.

Key Interfaces: - Customers, Regional Sales, Product Managers, Marketing, Finance, Technical Service, Supply Chain.

Candidate Requirements

BSc Marine Engineering / Nautical studies or equivalent qualifications
Extensive Marine industry experience
Knowledge or hands on experience of Marine Engines and/or Fuel solutions either shorebased or seagoing would be beneficial.
Ability to undertake extensive travel within Sales Regions
Commercial Experience (Sales / Marketing)
English and French Language Skills are essential. Spanish language would also be desirable
Previous experience working in the Maritime market and involved in the technical sales, support or engineering of fuel solutions.
