Room Based Deputy Manager - Surrey

Salary: Salary is negotiable, if you have all the experiences we require then a higher salary is open.
Permanent, 40 hours per week, to start ASAP
Open mon to fri 7.30-6, hours would include a half day each week
What we are looking for?
Ideally level 3
Would consider level 2
Responsible for: Assisting with the day to day management of the nursery to ensure that parents/carers and the children in our care are provided with exceptionally high quality childcare, meeting all requirements from EYFS, Children`s Act and registered bodies.

Your duties have been split into two areas, room leader and deputy management areas - some will of course over lap and it is to be remembered that this is not an extensive list. You will be expected to take on other duties as part of your role as and when required.
Main duties and responsibilities relating to room leading:
To provide a service that respects all children`s life experiences and celebrates diversity in terms of language, culture, ability, race and religion.
To work effectively as part of a team
To help support and mentor students/ volunteers on work placements within the setting.
To be responsible for the general upkeep of nursery resources and report any loss or damage or low stock to Management.
To assist the management with allocated tasks when necessary.
To direct and be a positive role model to junior staff.
To ensure that staff ratios are adhered to at all times and report any staffing issues to management.
To carry out duties and responsibilities of senior/ room based deputy post with regards to equal opportunities.
To act as an ambassador for the nursery and maintain a positive image of its aims and its work.
To attend and participate in staff meetings, training, parent`s evenings and fundraising events outside of normal working hours as and when required.
To carry out other duties which will be seen to enhance the work of the nursery.
To be flexible and approachable.
Aid management in supporting and mentoring junior members of staff, being an active role model to all staff, this may include assisting management with annual reviews and performance management.
Undertake certain domestic duties within the nursery to ensure it is kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
Organise staff breaks taking into consideration adult: child ratios.
Liaise with external agencies such as first team, early years advisers, OFSTED etc.
Ensure the nursery is kept hygienically clean and tidy.
To conform with the confidential policy at all times.
To exhibit good, professional communication skills with all staff, parents and visitors.
To ensure that the register is fully completed on a daily basis with children signed in and out making sure you are aware of how many children are in your care.
To ensure that staff have signed in and out of the building.
To ensure the nursery is left in a good attractive condition ready for the next working day.
Ensure that the building is left and locked securely at the end of each day.
To ensure security policies are adhered to at all times by yourself and staff- such as the front door policy etc.
To ensure all paperwork is completed by members of staff
