The Company

My client is a business that specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke materials handling applications for clients in the construction, nuclear, automotive and food manufacturing industries.

The business has an annual turnover of �20 million with 100 employees and has a trading history dating back over 30 years. The machines they design and manufacture are high value (up to �1.5 million each) completely bespoke, high technology and market leading solutions in their respective fields.

The company has the capability to carry out the mechanical, electrical and software design for the machinery systems they sell as well as the installation of the equipment at customer sites. The company have an eight-strong project management team.

Due to business expansion the company are looking to recruit a new Project Manager with immediate effect, please apply online for consideration.

The Role

As a Project Manager in the business you will be responsible for running turnkey projects that involve the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke machinery systems. These projects are typically around �1 million in value and you will manager up to four on-going projects at one time.

Your role is to the create a detailed project execution plan at the beginning of the project and then to manage the relationships with all key stakeholders as the project progresses. This will involve:

* Initial kick off meeting with the customer to discuss the scope of the project.
* Producing a detailed project execution plan identifying key risks to on time project delivery.
* Getting the engineering team to generate a functional design specification.
* Identification of third party companies who will be used for design and manufacturing activities.
* Managing all key stakeholders during the project including the customer, internal engineering, sub contract design/manufacturers, procurement and internal project engineers.
* When the project goes to site for installation you could be required to visit site to deal with issues during the process and to meet the customer.

The systems the company provide consist of bespoke robotic systems, materials handling equipment and special purpose machinery along with all the associated electrical and controls equipment required.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for this Project Managers role you will need:

* Experience in a Project Management role.
* A background in running projects from a special purpose machinery, production line equipment, automotive, capital equipment or robotics background.
* To be an excellent relationship builder.
* To be able to create well thought out project execution plans.

The Benefits

* �35,000 - 43,000
* 2/3% Pension
* 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
* 25 Days Annual leave plus bank holidays.
