Do you have the ability to help young people develop their maths and English skills, as well as improve their Personal and Social Development?

If so then Bournemouth and Poole college are looking for a supportive and experienced individual to deliver high quality teaching and learning, as well as strong pastoral support to Bournemouth and Poole College students as part of the Pre-Vocational Programmes team. The successful candidate may also act as a personal tutor to students, carrying out individual reviews with students and managing any student issues where possible.

The Role

As a lecturer in Pre-Vocational Programmes, you will be working with young people with Special Educational Needs and Moderate Learning Difficulties to prepare them for employment or mainstream education. You will be contributing to the development and delivery of a range of educational programmes including identifying learning objectives; determining, designing and producing study material; planning course/study programme delivery.

Duties will include: ensuring that teaching is based on current best available practice and is consistent with a high standard of practice; participating in the College’s appraisal process and undertaking any training that may be required. You will be focusing on scheduled teaching, student assignments and tutorials as well as distance learning support for groups of students. As part of this role, you will be involved in any support activities relating to employability, work experience and community or personal enrichment activities such as trips that are related to learning.

Additionally, you will be carrying out general administrative duties such as planning appropriate arrangements for student visit programmes, promoting collage activities and preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and assignment schedules.

As part of this role, you will also represent the College at internal and external events and meetings as well as attend consultation evenings, open evenings and award events.
