SEN Teachers required in the North Dorset area

Teaching Personnel are working with a SEN school in North Dorset that are looking for Teachers to join their team. They currently have a need for individuals who can work full time and part time.

Teaching Personnel work with a large number of SEN schools in the Dorset area but this particular school caters for pupils with a range of special educational needs including Autism, MLD (mild learning difficulties), PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties), physical disabilities and associated difficulties such as speech and language needs and sensory impairments.

The role of SEN Teacher will include the following duties:

- Teaching individuals or small groups inside and outside of the classroom environment

- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with pupils and staff alike

- Liaise with other professionals, such as social workers, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and educational psychologists

- Manage behaviour

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential you have experience teaching children with special needs (ideally in a SEN School however this is not essential.) The successful applicant will also be the following:

- Organised

- Calm, patient and empathetic

- Flexible and tolerant

The school is not easily accessed with public transport so it would be beneficial if you could drive. The school has on site parking.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
