Teaching Personnel are seeking a Teaching Assistant for a Behaviour Support role in a Bournemouth Pupil Referral Unit (PRU).

The successful candidate must hold a valid Team Teach certificate, or be able to complete this training over the Summer (August 2018). You will be working with pupils between 8 and 16 years old with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. The pupils have been excluded from mainstream education and regularly display challenging behaviour. You will be able to build a rapport with young people and establish values based on mutual respect, trust and understanding.

This is a full time role working as a 1-1 Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils with their work. You will be responsible for encouraging the pupils to engage in their work and for managing behaviour.

Experience in a school setting isn't required if you have relevant experience in other settings such as sports coaching, youth work, residential homes, military or custodial services.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
