The School:

The school can offer a highly supportive and skilled team to work with, as well as some amazing super heroes, who want to work with you in supporting their behaviours – helping them adapt their super hero skills for good.

The role:

Purpose of Job: To support pupils who have been referred to the School with social, behavioural and emotional difficulties.

Main duties include, but are not limited to:

1. To be responsible for carrying out planned programmes of intervention with pupil(s) of primary school age, both in the classroom and in the playground.

2. To carry out specified activities with either small groups or individual pupils after discussion and planning with Line Manager. This will be set out in individual partnership plan.

3. To help pupils in the areas of literacy, numeracy and social skills development.

4. To accompany pupils on day trips as required in agreement with school staff and the Head teacher.

5. To liaise with main stream school staff on general welfare and behaviour matters as appropriate in accordance with the school’s policy.

6. To carry out systematic observation of pupils, record observations and keep up to date records and contribute to planning and appropriate strategies based on these observations.

7. To participate in whole school training as appropriate.

You will provide superhero support to a variety of schools across the borough, using interventions and your own amazing emotional literacy to support the pupil, their families and schools in maintaining their behaviours within a mainstream setting.

You need to be well organised, self-regulating and above all else, an amazing communicator and skilled practitioner.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
