A friendly school in Somerset are looking for a confident and approachable Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The school was originally set up in the 1950's for boys who lived in the city to escape to the country and work towards a better education. Today, it caters for boys with social, emotional and mental health needs along side other difficulties including dyslexia.

The role of Teaching Assistant can be challenging at this particular SEN school which is why all applicants need to be adaptable and have experience supporting children or adults that present challenging behaviour.

As well as supporting children with their learning in the classroom, you will also be expected to join the pupils on school trips and help manage the behaviour at all times.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
