Graduate Teaching Assistant – Wigan

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a well respected school in the Wigan area. With a high influx of students expected in September, the school are looking to bolster their team of Teaching Assistants and have highlighted that they would like to recruit a Graduate that is looking to gain experience within a Secondary school setting. The role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant is the perfect preparation for anybody that is looking embark upon a PGCE in the future.

* Full time Graduate Teaching Assistant - September 2018
* 12 Month temporary position initially
* Working within an supportive school – graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted
* You can expect to earn �1000-1200 per month
* Gain invaluable experience prior to starting PGCE

If you are a Graduate who is looking to complete a PGCE in the future then this is a great opportunity to gain experience in a Secondary school environment, fine tuning your skills that will be key to your future development and becoming an ‘Outstanding’ teacher in the future.

* You will be assisting the teacher in class helping them manage behaviour of students Covering lessons with pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher
* You will lead small intervention sessions with students that are behind in work.
* Working alongside pupils on 1:1 basis
* Receive complete support from senior members of staff and heads of department

Within the schools latest Ofsted report, the school was judged as ‘Good’ with pupil behaviour being highlighted as ‘Outstanding’ making it the ideal school to enhance your experience working within secondary education.

Located on the outskirts of Wigan bordering Salford, the school is easily accessible via the East Lancashire road making the following areas commutable; St Helens, Warrington, Leigh and Chorley.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
