The Group Treasury Accounting team provides timely and accurate management information for the treasury function and the Group’s Equity Release portfolios to support strategic decision making and meet our regulatory reporting requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity if you are looking to start or progress a professional career in Finance. You will automatically be part of the finance progression scheme, studying towards becoming a qualified accountant, for which we will provide support and training. You will join a small friendly team located within the treasury room and gain experience ranging from data analysis, production of management information, regulatory reporting and statutory reporting.

Main responsibilitiesKnowledge sharing is one of the key elements of the Group Treasury Accounting team’s vision. As a result, you will be involved, over time, with all areas of work that fall under the teams responsibility. These include:


Monthly production of hedge accounting adjustments – this relates to the accounting rules applicable to the Group’s derivative portfolio
Monthly production of regulatory returns for treasury instruments
Monthly production of management information relating to the Group’s Equity Release mortgage portfolio
Daily reconciliations between the Group’s treasury management system and the Group’s accounting system

As part of our team you will work closely with and build strong relationships with other departments across the Group. You will be able to question the movements in the treasury numbers and ensure that knowledge and information is effectively captured, analysed and shared within the team.

You will work flexibly to provide support across the team when required, having strong organisational skills and be able to prioritise your work well. All of these responsibilities mean it is essential you are keen to gain a detailed understanding of complex technical issues through investigative work on your own but also through discussions with teams around the Group.
Ideal candidateTo succeed in this role you should have a keen eye for detail, have excellent numerical and analytical ability, be a fast learner, have a proven track record for understanding complex information, possess the ability to communicate effectively with different levels of the organisation and be able to thrive in a challenging and rewarding environment. The ability to plan and organise your own work to focus on priorities and achievement of deadlines is also very important.

It is important you can show a strong level of commitment towards studying for a professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA), a level of study support will be provided through an apprenticeship scheme however self-study is also required.

We would also expect you to have the ability to question and challenge and work with the team to deliver high quality, well controlled management information.
