Marketing and Recruitment Coordinator

LOCATION: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

WORKING HOURS: Full-time, 0830 – 1700hrs, Monday – Friday

THE COMPANY: Greater Peterborough UTC (GPUTC) is an exciting new University Technical College based in the centre of Peterborough with engineering and the built environment at the heart of all we do. Opened in September 2016, our new school is the choice for the city’s engineers, designers, architects and construction specialists of the future.
Students can join GPUTC in year 10 or year 12 and enjoy learning in our new £12 million state-of -the-art building, using industry leading-facilities and equipment.
THE ROLE: The Marketing & Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all marketing activities at the University Technical College and reaching out to external audiences on all levels. The role supports the Leadership Team in the continuing development and implementation of the University Technical College student recruitment strategy.
Key Responsibilities of the Marketing and Recruitment Coordinator to include:-

• Act as the first point of contact for marketing activities at UTC, including actively marketing courses and programmes to individuals and external organisations
• Liaise with external design agencies regarding artwork for marketing campaigns, enhancing the profile of UTC through developing and implementing consistency in branding
• Organise and run profile-raising and open day events, planning the event timetable to maximise marketing opportunities 
• Create marketing materials including course guides, information leaflets/postcards, monthly newsletters and any other literature as and when required
• Act as the main contact for external organisations and agencies, supporting the Leadership Team in implementing and delivering the UTC student ‘recruitment strategy
• Attend recruitment fairs and schools careers events, actively promoting UTC and its programmes to potential students
• Actively maintain the UTC’s website (using the Content Management System) and social media pages: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn) to promote the UTC to students and parents
• Organise school visits and UTC taster days, utilising existing partnerships to promote UTC and its courses to students
• Actively build relationships with employer and education sponsors’ marketing teams 
• Build and maintain knowledge of UTC course provision

Other duties

• Delivering, promoting and supporting good practice in relation to Equality, Diversity and Safeguarding ensuring compliance with UTC’s policy and procedures.
• Promoting and consistently exemplifying both internally and externally the values and behaviours of the UTC’s vision
• Responsibility to co-operate, and for promoting and maintaining safe and healthy working environment and own health and safety 
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people, and vulnerable adults
• Undertaking any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the level of the post as required

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within marketing and project / event management. The successful Marketing and Recruitment Coordinator will have a wide range of marketing knowledge including using social media. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for this role with the ability to communicate across range of methods – telephone, written and verbal. Our client is looking for someone who is proactive, has good organisational skills with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. You will need effective team working skills with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff to excel in the role.

Key experience for the Marketing and Recruitment Coordinator position based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

• Will live within a commutable distance of the Peterborough area
• Must hold a Level 3 qualification (A-levels or equivalent), 5 GCSEs (A-C) including English and Maths (or equivalent) and have been in further or higher education study 18+
• Will have good IT skills using range of Microsoft office packages including MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
