Lead Planner - North East

£ 45 - £ 50 per hour ( Contractor Rate ) - 44 hours per week.

My Client is an Engineering Construction Company who provide Engineering solutions to Blue Chip Companies. They have worked on projects all over the world and they are a very friendly and supportive company to work in.

The main responsibilities for this role - Lead Planner ( Construction Industry experience, Biomass experience desirable, UK Planning Standards, Contract Programmes, Report writing )

This role is based in the North East as a Contractors position.

The main job purpose is to ensure effective delivery of the planning function through resource management and effective delivery of company procedures and management of reports.
Prepare & monitor contract programme
Ensure UK Planning Standards are maintained throughout the business.
Develop and implement Planning Standards representing industry best practice.
Produce optimum contract programmes, well thought out and understood by each project team.
Produce and have available accurate information regarding progress to enable quality decisions to be made by project team.
Produce and continually develop working programmes (e.g. 4wk look-ahead`s) to maximise construction efficiency and progress.
Produce prompt and accurate information for QS to maximise value and EOT.
Ensure projects are set up in line with the company Planning Standards.
Work closely with Project Manager to assist in the implementation and the calculation of accurate earned value and percentage complete reports.
Report writing
Continual liaison between Construction and Planning Department
Skills required for this role - Lead Planner ( Construction Industry experience, Biomass experience desirable, UK Planning Standards, Contract Programmes, Report writing )

Key skills will be `a must` to have vast experience working in a similar role and experience and knowledge of the Construction Industry on complex and large projects. Biomass projects experience would be desirable. Excellent communication skills, excellent IT skills, excellent attention to detail, ability to liaise with other departments and ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment. A willing and `can do attitude` is essential.
